theres nowhere like home
wooohoo! im finally home!so happy la i think i really love my home alot haha. and singapore!!! you never realise how blessed you are until you experience and see how so many other people are so much worse off than you are man. anyway, egypt was a really exciting experience! photos are with my dad so haven upload yet but i will! oh my its like the most historical and unique places ive ever been to! like other places all have nice scenery and stuff but only in egypt are there like centuries old temples and buildings EVERYWHERE. like in the first city we went to, luxor(aka thebes), thier roadworks has been going on for years and years cos everytime they dig up the roads to build stuff, they always find artifacts underneath so have to call in the archeologists to come haha. which is kinda a bad thing too la but u get what i mean. ok some of the things i did on my trip:
cruised down the georgeous river nile, the source of all life in egypt... its really nice!
saw many many ancient egyptian temples complete with hieroglyphics and everything! its amazing how well preserved they are cos they all got buried by sand
saw the tombs of the pharohs and some of them are still in full colour la its really super amazing!
camel ride!!!!! haha. was qt painful but very interesting! and i realised i get camel sickness too :(
visited thebes and alexandria, cities ive only heard about but never thought i would ever go! i mean, they are like modern and have horrendous traffic now but its just the romance of being there where so many thousands of years ago people were living and having a super big amazing civilization!
ate lunch over looking the mediterranean sea!
saw the great pyramids and the sphynix! the only ancient wonder of the world left still standing and its really magnificent la! just tt the sphynix is actually kinda puny haha. i thot it would be really big la! cheat my feelings...
went into a synagogue and mosque for the first time and i really learnt alot about islam on this trip cos its a muslim country and we went during ramadan which is the holy month so there was alot of stuff going on
basically the trip was really educational cos the egyptian history is so rich and our guide is like a historian so he was able to really teach us alot and its really like being transported back into time (except for the ubiquitous tourists), and the culture there is really amazing, you can really see how proud they are of thier heritage and yeah!i feel smarter now hahaha.
so all in all it was a rather good holiday, but the bad thing is that i got gastric flu and a really bad case of it too, cos it was like mixed with motion sickness and on the last few days of the trip i hardly ate anything and like puked alot and had diahorrea alot too!was qt sad cos i couldnt enjoy the pyramids properly cos of it...but other than tt it was really cool haha. tho i think i wont wanna move from the comforts of home for a while. good thing our next holiday is to japan which is like a developed country! not tt im a snob or what la but i guess ive been spoilt here and despite everything, egypt is still a developing country and its IN A DESERT so it was like so hot! ohmy. never complain abt singapore weather again cos it sure beats a desert anytime! and the traffic there is so super scary la. like they dont have traffic lights and they just drive wherever they want...super scary ok haha. if i drove there sure kena buang in like 1 min la!and i missed singapore food ALOT! haha. like they dont believe in light meals (thats why so many fat people) and after the first few days we were all like dying of overeating haha. so in a way its a good thing i couldn eat the last few days i guess!
ok! like lots more to say actually but im tired haha and going out to celebrate chris birthday later so if you wanna know more you can ask me! haha :p
